Well today I tried to get a volleyball game going. The said thing is that NONE of the people on the “Get off your ass” facebook group could make it. Except for one, my coworker Jonathan. The good thing is that he got his old high school buddy and his fiancee to come play. What’s sad is that basically I couldn’t even get a minimum of 4 people. So I was wondering. How do I get more people, and new people I don’t know, I might add. The whole reason for the group was to not only suck at sports but have it be a social event as well.
I came across a match.com ad and thought to myself, “these people are lonely, they’d definitely play!” Ok well it came to me after I was looking to see if there was anyone I knew that was on (which there was). So I figured that I would try to invite all these people to my group because it’s more people that can play. Well after looking around, you have to pay like $20 to start. Well sadly, I don’t think it’s worth $20 just to advertise for pick-up games. I was thinking about advertising it on craigslist but then that woulda been super sketchy. At least match.com I would see if they’re pretty or not.
I love not doing anything. As you all know. I quit my job a couple weeks ago and I’ve decided to take a small break before I start the new job. So everyone asks me, what are you doing? Well pretty much nothing! I watch the olympics while chatting about it with my friend Dave till basically 4am and then I wake up at like 1pm. Parts of the day I’ll go out and do something active but other than that. All I do is just play xbox.
This is the life.
PS. if anyone wants to play basketball, volleyball, tennis, frisbee, or go biking. I’m game.
Phelps Phan

Since it’s the time of the olympics, I just want to say that do any of you hate how crazy everyone is about Michael Phelps? I just think that it’s not really cool to have a zillion different types of swimming so potentially someone can have like 7 golds just in one year. I don’t know but I just don’t think they really deserve to be the BEST olympian. This sort of goes for track as well. I mean gymnastics at least have individual events that are somewhat different.
I think the real olympians are the ones that do the pentathlon, and they only get one medal. Sadly, they want to take it out. True, Phelps is a dominate force in the water but does he really deserve to be called the ‘best’ olympian?
Maybe I’m just bitter because I don’t even know how to swim, haha.
extra extra!

extra extra! it’s a new world record! sam ou was able to float for a mere 3 seconds before his battle with the dark raging water was over. not only was his hands and feet in the water, but also the back of his head! he did all of this with his glasses on and his belly full of air (he did not breathe once during the whole duration)! amazing, what else will sam do next? maybe swim? it’s possible!
if the trip to cali has taught me anything it is that i am no longer a kid and although i might look like high schooler, my real age reveals that i might have to start thinking about marriage. scary right? aside from the many people asking me when i was going to get married in cali, i also had a moment that revealed my true feelings about marriage.
Because of my very able body, someone volunteered me to be a substitution for grandma during the rehearsal of the wedding ceremony. Grandma was to be escorted down the aisle by sam’s cousin (steven). They were also the first pair to go down the aisle, followed by sam and his mother. At first I was excited to “participate” in the wedding and thought it would be lots of fun, but as I started walking down the aisle with a clear view of the altar, I panicked a little and had to force my feet from running the opposite direction. For a split second, it felt like I was the one getting married. thank god steven was cool and collected the whole time. Maybe if it was sam escorting me down the aisle and not steven, it would’ve been a better experience. and i am not saying that it wouldn’t be good to marry a guy like steven either. steven is a great guy, but wow… getting married is scary.
first, thanks to cathy, jeremy, and the ou family for inviting me to the wedding. thanks to sam for agreeing to take me.
it was my first “real” wedding and it was very nice. i had no prior expectations for weddings except the ones on “who’s wedding is it anyways?” (show on style network) which is probably the biggest reason why everyone in the apartment is glad i am not living with them anymore. we had different tastes of tv shows…
anyways, the wedding ceremony was beautiful. everyone in cali was so hospitable. i had a great time!
First of all, i am alive. Believe it or not, even without a job, i have been pretty busy this summer. i am waiting for my diploma in the mail and i honestly don’t know when i am suppose to graduate or if i have already. i checked my status online and it said “diploma has not been mailed yet.” i had officially stopped taking classes since june, so i assume i am done.
i am also excited to start teaching this year in montgomery county. matter and energy is the course i will be teaching, which sounds kind of intimidating. it’s a combination of physics and chemistry that is targeted towards 9th graders. i was ecstatic to learn that i will be teaching 9th graders. i love watching people go through the awkward years, don’t you? and especially when you’re not the one going through it. I had it pretty rough back then, so i’ll be sure to stand up for the really dorky, nerdy, awkward kids
What was so great about Cali was that you get burned and not even know it. We hung out at the pool and even though it was around 70 something, it was still sunny. You don’t put two and two together that sun means burn. I usually just think that hot means burn. Well I got even darker than I am which is pretty darn black. I call myself I nice honey roasted. Took a good amount of pictures. Will post someday.
